5 Foods to Eat More Often

In this article I cover the 5 foods that everyone should be eating more often to improve their health! Incorporating these foods into your diet will benefit overall health and performance.

What's so good about these foods?

Here are the 5 foods you've gotta eat more this year.

  • Oatmeal: I love oatmeal mainly because it's super nutrient-dense, filling & inexpensive. Pro tip: add whatever you want to it to make it not taste like cardboard. Vanilla, maple syrup and cinnamon are good options.

  • Whole Grain Bread: Compared to white bread, whole grain breads are higher in fibre and some vitamins. Love that for you.

  • Dark Green Vegetables: Although I think all vegetables have their own strengths, dark green ones can get ignored sometimes. Vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, kale, spinach are great to throw on your plate. Frozen, canned or fresh are all good options.

  • Orange Vegetables: Always a good option because they are high in antioxidants & help your immune system function properly.

  • Legumes: I feel like I'm always talking about chickpeas, lentils & beans! They're so little, but pack a ton of energy in them. How can you say no when they’re $1 per can? They're also high in protein and iron, which are essential nutrients for athletes.
